Willie James Kellam, the oldest child of Allene Wynn, was born May 2, 1953 in Hawkinsville, Georgia. He was reared by his grandparents Deacon Ed Coney and Sally Coney.
Willie James, affectionately known as "Deke", transitioned from his earthly home to eternal life on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 10:40 p.m. in Baconton, Georgia at his residence.
At an early age, Wllie James joined Piney Grove Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia. At Piney Grove, he was given the name "Lil Deke" because he always sat in the Deacon's corner with his grandfather.
In 1971 he graduated from Hawkinsville High School. After graduation he entered the United States Navy and served for four years.
During his stay in Tifton, Georgia, he was employed at Queens Carpet and later at Target Distribution Center.
In 1992, Willie James moved to Albany, Georgia and began work at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company. He worked there until he became disabled in 2004.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents Ed Coney and Sally Coney.
Willie James leaves to cherish his love and memories his devoted wife of eighteen years, Henrietta Bradley-Kellam of Baconton, Georgia; one son, Mauricus (Shannon) Kellam of Valdosta, Georgia; one daughter, Tamika Kellam of Warner Robins, Georgia; one bonus daughter, Temika (Kenneth) Williams of Baconton, Georgia; one bonus son, Brandon Bradley of Baconton, Georgia; his mother, Allene Wynn of Brandon, Florida; his father, Willie James Barnes of Hawkinsville, Georgia; four sisters, Bobbie (Ben) English of Jacksonville, Florida, Parisee Nelloms of Jonesboro, Georgia, Keisha Wynn of Brandon, Florida, and Venice Curry of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania; one brother, Alfred (Charlene) Wynn of Wilmington, North Carolina.
He also leaves to cherish his memories his granddaughter, Kamiyah Rush (affectionately called "grand baby")of Warner Robins, Georgia; a grandson, Brian Kellam of Tifton, Georgia; his bonus grandchildren, Amanda Dunkley and Anthony Bennett of Valdosta, Georgia, Kentre'vious Williams and Kentrel Williams of Baconton, Georgia; one uncle, David (Barbara) Brown of Tampa, Florida; a very special niece, Nicole (Jerome) Rogers of Jacksonville, Florida; a very special nephew, Jonathan (Kizzie) Whitehead of Jacksonville, Florida; special friends, William Burden, Lillie Burden, Kenneth Long, Evelyn Long; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.
