The funeral service of Willie Mae Wimberly, will be conducted Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Newton Street, Camilla, Georgia. Reverend Eddie Jackson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oakview Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Hall, David Wilkerson, Dexter Wimberly, Bishop Edgar Wimberly, Ivan Wimberly, Melton Wimberly.
Active Pallbearers will be Alan Brown, Oscar Clayton, Climmie Lee Wimberly, Kelly Wimberly, Lonnie Wimberly, Tony Wimberly.
Willie Mae Wimberly–mother, grandmother, sister, aunt,
and friend–was born January 5, 1951 in Mitchell County,
Georgia to the late William Wimberly and Candis Wimberly.
She confessed CHRIST at an early age and united with the
Saint John Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated at
Camilla Consolidated High School in Camilla, Georgia.
Willie Mae closed her eyes on Thursday, November 27, 2008
at the home of her sister, Eddie Mae Smith, in Camilla,
Georgia.
She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters:
Sebrina (Michael) Hall of Austell, Georgia, Nadja Wimberly
of Camilla, Georgia, and Patricia Wimberly of Covington,
Georgia; four sons: Anthony (Michelle) Spooner of Lithonia,
Georgia, Dexter Wimberly of Brooklyn, New York, Rahmel
Wimberly and Ivan Wimberly, both of Camilla, Georgia; two
loved-ones to whom she was a mother-figure, Evelyn
Thomas and Shari Thomas, both of Atlanta, Georgia; five
brothers: Bishop Edgar (Toy) Wimberly of Queens, New
York, Melton Wimberly of Camilla, Georgia, Climmie
(Emma) Wimberly of Atlanta, Georgia, Lonnie Charles
Wimberly of Augusta, Georgia, and Willie C. Sanders of
Camilla, Georgia; four sisters: Norma Jo Clayton of Pelham,
Georgia, Eddie Mae Smith, Rosa Lee Childs, and Tina
Sanders, all of Camilla, Georgia; sister-in-law, Bernice
Wimberly of Camilla, Georgia; ten grandchildren: Shamel
Spooner, David Wilkerson, III, Mercedes Hodges, Michael
Hall, III, Kiani Spooner, Jordan Hall, Kasiem Wimberly, Dylan
Wimberly, Anthony Spooner, Jr., and Tamia Wimberly; and
a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2008, at 6:00 p.m., at the Robert Jester Mortuary.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Ms. Wimberly's sister, Eddie Mae Smith, at 4856 Ledbetter Road, Camilla, Georgia.
