Obituary

Willie James Oliver was born October 2, 1977 in Amityville, New York to Debra Oliver.  Willie and his mother were reared by a grandmother, Geneva Oliver.  After the passing of Geneva Oliver, the late Forrestine Jones and Charlie Will Jones had a great love for Willie and reared him along with their three sons.

Willie attended Mitchell-Baker High School in Camilla, Georgia graduating with the class of 1999.

"Lil Willie", as he was affectionately called, was a very enthusiastic and outgoing individual who lived life boldly with intense energy.  He was free-spirited, strong willed, and oftentimes the life of the crowd.  He had an endless reservoir of love for his family, friends, and those at Mitchell-Baker Service Center.  His one-of-a-kind personality kept people on their toes.

As noted by his friends at Mitchell-Baker Service Center, Willie loved to dance. He loved to see Santa. Once he knew your birthday, he would never forget it. He could not wait to see the Center's newsletter each month and always would ask when it would be ready. He loved to travel, especially with the Special Olympics teams. He loved a cook out. He was a hard worker and a big asset to the yard crew and cardboard crew.

Willie enjoyed life and all that it had to offer.  He had a deep passion for sports; especially football.  He loved the school bands, riding his bicycle, collecting cans, and helping people.

Although his life here was shortened, he impacted and attracted many to him with his love of life and energetic personality.  He will be deeply missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by a loving mother figure, Forrestine Jones.

On Monday, August 9, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, the season of life ended for "Lil Willie".  He will be remembered most of all for his big smile.  He always had a smile and a hug for you.  He was an absolute joy to be around and will be missed by so many.  We all should love like Willie.

Fond memories will forever remain with his mother, Debra Oliver Wallace of Camilla, Georgia; stepfather, Perlist Wallace of Camilla, Georgia; a father figure, Charlie Will Jones of Camilla, Georgia; brothers, Charlie (Tanesha) Jones, Rodney (Veronica) Jones, Anthony Jones of Camilla, Georgia; an aunt, Ida Mae Porter of Camilla, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, along with his friends at Mitchell-Baker Service Center.
