Willie C. Robinson was born on June 12, 1921 in Flint Community, which is Mitchell County, Georgia.  He departed this life on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at his residence in Camilla, Georgia.  He was the eighth of eleven children born to Will and Eldora King Robinson.  His oldest sister was not of this union.  His parents and all of his siblings predeceased him.

He obtained his early education at Zion Grove Baptist Church, Bethel Baptist Church, and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  He later attended Rockdale night school after returning from service in the U. S. Army.

He was united in holy matrimony to Mae Eva Hazley on May 31, 1946.  To this union three children were born:  Martha Jean, Willie, Jr. ("Pushup"), and Brenda Louise.  Willie, Jr. was an unfortunate casualty of the Vietnam War in August, 1967.  Mae Eva also preceded him in August, 2008.

Bill was drafted into the U. S. Army on April 4, 1944 and completed his basic training in Wyoming.  He served honorably during WWII.  His tour of duty was with the 4416 ^th Quartermaster Service Company in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations under General Douglas MacArthur; and, the European Theater of Operations under General George Patton.  He was responsible for guarding military installations making sure that no one entered or left restricted areas without proper identification.  Bill was honorably discharged on May 16, 1946 at Ft. McPherson which at that time was located in Atlanta, Georgia.

After returning home to Camilla, Bill was employed by Lewis Wood Preserving Plant (the "Criso Plant") and Cameron Head Construction and Engineering Company from which he retired in 1988.

Bill gave his life to CHRIST in 1939 when he joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend W. M. Dominie.  He served in multiple roles as a servant of CHRIST – Superintendent of the Sunday School, President and Vice-President of the Usher Board.  Additionally, he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board from 1975 until 2004.  On April 1, 2018, he was honored for having been a member of Friendship for seventy-nine years.

Bill Jack took great pride in maintaining his property and enjoyed receiving all of the compliments that came his way.

He leaves the following to cherish his memories:  two daughters, Martha J. Smith of Detroit, Michigan and Brenda (Mark) Tarver of College Park, Georgia.  Also, two grandchildren:  Mark Tarver, III of Decatur, Georgia and Ashley Olivia Tarver of Atlanta, Georgia; six great grandchildren:  Ashton Lee, Genesis Allison, Amari Christopher, Faith Renee, Desiree Brenda and Elijah Christian; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors.
