Obituary

The funeral service of Willie Mae "Big Mama" Threatts, will be conducted Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 7141 Pipeline Road, Camilla, Georgia. Reverend Leroy Thompson, Jr., will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be MSGT Darryl Bryant, MSGT William Bryant, Emmanuel Drakes, Herbert Pitts, Sr., Curtis B. Williams, Jarvis Williams.

Mrs. Willie Mae Threatts was born on September 14, 1922 to the late Ed Dumas and Cora Dumas.

She was a member of the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She worked as a homemaker for Mrs. Martha Hilliard for many years. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie James Threatts, who preceded her in death. To this union eleven children were born.

She was preceded in death by her husband, seven sisters, three brothers and two sons, Bennie F. and Willie L. Threatts.

She departed this life on Friday, June 19, 2009, at Mitchell County Convalescent Center.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, seven daughters, Lillie T. Rhodes of Camilla, Georgia, Essie Mae (Robert Lee) Cooper of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Claretha (Robert) Anderson of Buffalo, New York, Gloria A. Bryant, Gilberteen Williams, Rosemary Drakes, Annie White of Mitchell County; two sons, Robert (Lillie) Threatts and Johnny (Catherine) Threatts of Camilla, Georgia; one daughter-in-law, Waverly Threatts of Queens, New York; one sister-in-law, Betty Williams of Camilla, Georgia; forty-one grandchildren; one hundred one great grandchildren; thirty-one great great grandchildren; a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins; a very special godson, K. C. Ross.
