LIFE PROFILE

Willo Dean Haywood Graham was born June 21, 1948 in Camilla, Georgia to the late Eugene Haywood, Sr. and the late Rachel D. Haywood.  She was the eldest of fifteen children.  Five of her siblings preceded her in death.

Willo was educated in the Camilla Consolidated School of her hometown in Camilla, Georgia.  She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Camilla, Georgia, under the leadership of Reverend Phillips.  After moving to Detroit, Michigan, she worked for the Detroit Public School System from which she retired.  Willo was also currently working for Metropolitan Building Services until her health began to fail.

On June 18, 1967, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Melvin Graham.  To this union two children were born.

Willo joined Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor W. L. Baltimore.  There she served faithfully as a Deaconess, a member of the Sunday School Department and a very diligent President of the Usher Board, forever faithful on her post.

On Monday, March 14, 2011, God decided to send down one of His angels and Willo departed this life at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.  He looked on with care,

"close your eyes my child,
I know you are tired of being in pain
even though you never complain;
it is time for you to leave that weary body behind
and take your rightful place in line."

Willo leaves to cherish her memories, a loving husband of forty-three years, Melvin Graham of Detroit, Michigan; two daughters, Jacqueline Graham and Karen Lumpkin of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, DeMarco Harris, Fabian Lumpkin, Jr. and Alexandria Lumpkin of Atlanta, Georgia; five brothers, Eugene (Frances) Haywood, Jr., Leon (Gloria) Haywood, Sr. of Albany, Georgia, Clarence (Tracey) Haywood of Leesburg, Georgia, Dave Haywood of Forest Park, Georgia and Sam (Wanda) Haywood, Sr. of Gainesville, Florida; four sisters, Chattie Wheeler of Gainesville, Florida, Linda Hayward of Albany, Georgia, Virginia (Vernon) Jackson and Deidrea Edmonds of Camilla, Georgia; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; four aunts; eight uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
